A catch-all mailbox receives messages sent to nonexistent email addresses under the exact same domain name. For example, a message sent to the misspelled suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com in case the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. Thus, you can receive email messages from colleagues or customers who may have sent a message to your email address with a typographical error or to an out-of-date one, which they may still have, but you have already deleted. Only one mailbox per domain name can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be enabled for such a mailbox. This is so because of the fact that at some moment you may begin receiving spam messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding limitation implies that the spam will not be received in a third-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Website Hosting

Setting up a catch-all e-mailbox will be very easy if you’ve got a website hosting plan with us. You can enable the feature through our powerful, albeit easy-to-work-with Email Manager, which is an integral part of the Hepsia hosting Control Panel, via which you’ll manage the account itself. You will see all the email addresses that you have set up displayed alphabetically and on the right-hand side of each one there will be a small "Catch-all" icon, which will instantaneously let you know whether a specific mailbox gets all the messages associated with a certain domain name or not. With one single mouse click on the icon you can activate or deactivate this option whenever you want. If there is activated email forwarding or in case another mailbox has already been set up as a catch-all one for a specific domain, you will get a warning message from our system. The latter will not replace/deactivate anything automatically and without your approval.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Servers

The custom-created Hepsia Control Panel that is included with each and every semi-dedicated server package that we offer will permit you to configure a catch-all email mailbox without any efforts even in case you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All you have to do to achieve that is click the catch-all icon, which will be next to each email address that you’ve created with your domain names in the hosting Control Panel’s Email Manager section. As you can have only one mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will inform you if you have already created another catch-all mailbox or if the one that you want to use has email forwarding activated. If you reach the decision that you do not need the feature anymore, you can remove it by clicking again on the same icon. The Email Manager will also allow you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
